It has been said that pure titanium prosthesis has not been treated
with soldering or welding using flame or electric resistance,
and chromium-cobalt alloy has been classified into to be treated
very hard. But laser welding enables us to weld these two parent
metals together easily without deteriorating physical property.
In addition, heating spot is minimized. and welding is done on
working stone models without impairing cast, resin plate and
artificial teeth, promising an accurate fit.

Summary
Laser welding enables us to weld the minimum required spot of prosthesis
functioning in the mouth. Compared to a conventional method (soldering),
modification and repair can be done with laser welding much more easily
and firmly, welding together to an ideal form.
Until now, it has been considered that a metal plate was not so easily
repairable, but now laser welding makes us possible to modify the design
and repair with minimum labor and time in accordance with occlusal change
in the mouth.
